What is the Licence Administration Tool?
The Licence Administration Tool allows you to manage your serial numbers for Kar2ouche.  It displays the serial numbers of the Kar2ouche software you have installed, the content title name, the description, the version (scheme) and whether the content titles are compatible with the Kar2ouche engine (matching default).

You can use this tool to assist your installation processes and troubleshoot any problems.  You can check where your serial numbers are being read from and add and remove them.

Where is the tool available for use?
The tool is supplied on Kar2ouche Composer CD1 (Revision C, F and G disks only) and can be downloaded from our download service*.

What is the Scheme column?
The Scheme column indicates the versions of the software installed.  Scheme A refers to Kar2ouche version 2.1 and Scheme B refers to Kar2ouche version 3.0.  Content titles must have the same Scheme letter as the DEF serial number to work successfully - the exception to this is where the Compatibility serial number has been added for Scheme A content titles to work with Scheme B.  For more information on the Compatibility serial number see ??

What is the Location column?
The matching default of the Kar2ouche application (engine) is indicated by N/A and is related to the DEF serial number.  The Kar2ouche content title serial numbers must match the Kar2ouche application for the platform to work correctly, and will indicate YES if so.  Normally if the matching default states NO then users may be having issues accessing those particular content titles (in this case, check they the Scheme letters of those content titles).

What is the Location column?
The Location column indicates where the serial numbers are being read from.  The letters used are as follows:

T = Applies to Windows and Apple Mac operating systems.  Indicates a serials text file.  This is usually located in ...Kar2ouche > Content Modules > Default > Interface, but it may be elsewhere depending upon the installation.

O = on a Windows local workstation registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareImmersive EducationKar2oucheContent ModulesModulename, value of ‘Serial’

S
= on a Windows local workstation
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareImmersive EducationKar2oucheContent ModulesModulenameSerialsSerialnum

On Apple Mac operating systems, a XML file contains the serials in the folder ...System > Preferences > Immersive Education (Mac OS 9), or ...Library > Preferences > Immersive Education (Mac OSX).  O and S refer to lines in this file.
